Well Hog fans, Arkansas has finally done it. A long 20 games without a SEC win is finally over. Dating back to the 2017 win against Ole Miss, the 1,056 day streak without an SEC win is finally over. The Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 20-14 last Saturday. The storyline was all about defense for the Razorbacks.

Defensive back Greg Brooks Jr. got it started off early with a 69 yard pick six on the first drive of the game. Arkansas held K.J. Costello to 313 yards, one touchdown, and got three interceptions. Linebacker Bumper Pool (Yes, that is his real name) had an outstanding day for the Hogs with 20 total tackles, seven solo tackles, and two passes deflected. Barry Odom countered the famous Mike Leach “Air Raid” by rushing three and then dropping back eight players to defend against the pass.

However, the Arkansas offense looked better than it did Week 1 against Georgia. Feleipe Franks threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns with a 77.7 QBR. Wide receiver De’Vion Warren had 4 catches for 100 yards, including a 52 yard catch and a touchdown. He stepped up big in the absence of Treylon Burks (injury). However, with running back Rakeem Boyd injured, the running game struggled as Trelon Smith only got 48 yards on 13 carries. You can listen to Episode 5 (Week 2 vs. Mississippi State Reaction, Takeaway, & Grades) for more information on the Razorbacks road win.

Arkansas moves on to face the Auburn Tigers on the road. Most notably, this is the first time the Razorbacks have played former head coach Chad Morris, the current Auburn offensive coordinator, since his firing last season. Auburn, the #13 team in the nation is going to be a tough game for the Hogs. Auburn quarterback Bo Nix and wide receiver Seth Williams will give the Barry Odom defense a hard time, as Williams is arguably one of the best wide receivers in the nation. You can find more information about this game in Episode 6 (Week 3 vs. Auburn Preview & Prediction). You can also catch this game at 3PM CDT on SEC Network. WOO PIG!
